Okay so i applied to uiuc (LAS) before the priority filing date (nov 1.) and have yet to hear anything. I know the date isn't until dec 15, but i feel like everyone whos getting in has already been accepted. At first i just thought it was bc they were just accepting the highly qualified students first, but then this one girl from another school got accepted w lower stats than mine...i feel that i am at a disadvantage bc my hs is a feeder school to champaign so i am competing w my very smart classmates. And i doubt they've already rejected anyone yet, i don't think theyd post rejected under the online app status..theyd probably wait till the deadline to send a formal letter..ahhh..anyone have any insight??
oh yeah my stats:
gpa 3.75
at least 1-3 honors/ap classes a year
act 27
business club
drug prevention club
work experience
upward grade trend

I haven't heard a decision yet form UIUC either. Even on their website, they say they notify the majority of the students between the dates of December 1st through March 1st. I know some kids that applied before the deadline and have gotten deferred. They are probably just waiting to see some more applications, then they will make a definitive answer for yours. I highly doubt that you would get rejected from UIUC, especially the College of LIberal Arts and Sciences with those stats.

Good Luck,

Do colleges that have priority deadlines for early application reject people early or only accept people early. Meaning, if you aren't as qualified, will they reject you right away in December/January, or will they further look at your app again come March/April.

that is exactly what i would like to know...if it does both reject and accept early, i'd feel a little more confident...does anyone know if they reject underqualified students early the same way they accept highly qualified ones early?
