Hello everyone,

I am taking the SAT next Saturday, but I have a little problem managing the time.
Is it better to read all the text first and then answer? Or read the questions first and then read all the text? Or read each question a refer to the line in the text?

Thank you in advance

I skim over the questions first and make marks in the passages for the line references. I don’t actually read the question, just look for the number. Around 80% of the questions I’ve encountered have included a line number, so it’s pretty helpful for me. Then I read and return to the question whenever I get to one of the line numbers I’ve marked and since they’re usually in order, I try to answer the main idea ones as I go along as well. Best of luck!

Marking the line references might be helpful. But it still depend on personal habit. I find marking the lines won’t help me much so I don’t mark them. But you can still try.

Personally I think reading the questions first won’t work really well. It might work for short passages since there are usually two questions which you can remember, but it does not really work for long passages because there are too many questions to remember. So reading the questions is simply wasting time. I suggest you read the text first and then solve the questions.
