I think i may be in problem, There is a whole month remaining for the deadline of 24 Jan SAT but the test centers are already filled. So i am inclined to choose the option “Let College Board assign you a test center” and make payment. By choosing this option College Board will assign me to the ideal test center in my nearest location but i have an issue that What if they do not find me a test center and i miss the test and payment goes nowhere. I have to take 23 Jan test.
A quick response will be appreciated.
You have the opportunity to choose your own test center. Enter your zip code and it will display the testing centers near your home that are administering the test and have seats available. Choose the one you want and pay.
Could you see if there are any testing centers in nearby towns? Picking your own testing center is optimal to be safe rather than sorry. If there are no other options, then I would just let the College Board assign you a testing center. No matter what, do not get on the standby list, as that means you are risking your opportunity to actually take the test.
Thanks for the reply. Yes there is one place but it is far away. Since the deadline is one month away i think i can get a seat in the nearest town… I haven’t applied yet.
@mjrube94 Where can i enter my zip code to find the test center. There is one option “I know the test center code”
but no zip code. Can you direct me please?
If you think you can get a seat in the nearest town, then I would try that. Apply and see what happens. Worst case scenario: you have to take the SAT at the testing center that is far away. It wouldn’t hurt to try and see what all of your options for the SAT are first.
@muddasir, when you scroll all the way through the pages, agree to the terms and conditions, on the next page I see 3 choices under “Your Test Center”: 1) Previous Test Center; 2) Your High School; and 3) I want to search for another test location. There is a box for you to enter your zip code and search.
But College Board will find me a test center in any case, right?
“finding you a test center” and finding you a convenient test center are two different things.
When my son’s HS did not offer a particular sitting, they gave him a list of other test centers. If the test center is full, it won’t show up, BUT we understood from the CB that we could check back and see if any spots opened up.
I have got a seat in the desired place under 4 working days.
