Hi everyone! I applied to McGill mid-september, and so far my app just has been updated to say “further review required”. I uploaded my quarter grades when this happened, but it’s been about two weeks or so. Judging by previous admission minima and people who have gotten in so far, I feel like I might have a pretty good chance so is it weird I haven’t heard back yet? Also, I realized about a week ago that I listed a bunch of my classes as AP, but technically they are “AT” which is my schools equivalent to AP. I think they should have been listed as honors, since I have not taken the AP tests. Is there any way I can change this? I’m worried it will cause problems in my admission.
Thanks!
If you are close to the minima you may not hear for a while.
My son (U.S. high school) is far above the minima and has been in the same status. About two weeks ago they asked to see his full semester grades (though his first quarter grades were very high). That said, he has one weak SAT II (subject test) that is close to the minima. McGill admissions said when you are in the status you are in you should just keep checking back and make sure they haven’t asked for any additional info. (You will find the requests if you scroll down on that status page.) Good luck and stay positive!
Same here. My daughter (US HS) applied in September and then got the request for interim grades. She uploaded her quarter grades (4.0) on December 1st and then nothing - she won’t get final semester grades until January. She is above the minima - 34 ACT, 3.91 unweighted gpa and 13 AP classes. She called and they said that it will just be back in the queue and will get looked at over the next few months. Hang in there - it seems to be hit or miss how quickly they review the updated information.
My daughter got accepted yesterday afternoon. They asked for all her AP test scores in the spring (they added that task to her list but it is not active yet). So you may want to contact them to correct that item in your application.
