Hi guys. I have a problem here please help me out. I am applying to many schools as a transfer applicant and I chose Mathematics as my major in the application (there was no applied math as a choice). But my major at my current institution is applied math and in the supplemental essays I wrote something like:” I am chosing applied maths as my major…” etc.
Would this affect my admissions? I am so upset because I chose math as my major but I concluded with APPLIED math in the essay.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT???
Don’t worry about this. It won’t be the thing that decides if you are admitted or not.
@happymomof1 thanks for your reply. I know that colleges might not look at this mistake as strong as the actual materials and my information as a whole, but I still feel like the admission officers would think that I’m so careless and have a negative impression of me.
There is nothing you can do right now to change that essay. All you can do is wait to see your admission results. Take a deep breath. Go eat a snack. Do your homework. Find a couple of healthy ways to distract yourself while you are waiting.
Fingers crossed for you!
