Have you looked at it?

mmhmm. and it's GREATLY appreciated. Making corrections now.

Thanks so much :)

Eckie,

It was very well-written. It was concise and well organized. I can't think of any ways you can improve it. It sounds professional but warm-hearted, and it is obvious that you have invested some time and thought into it (sounds polished).

I can see it now:
"Congratulations Eckie!

The University of Pennsylvania invites you to.."

Good luck!

De nada. Keep in mind, some of it is personal preference. So pick and choose.

i can't. i tried. i just can't. too tired. looks good, though

Krabble, hopefully this will cancel out my class rank and math SAT score. Thanks though

Go to bed 26e!

Wow, apparently I was definitely the harshest critiquer. Now I feel mean:(

megalo, you know just as well as I do that mean critiques are the best ones

Haha, not really. There's this girl at my school who tried to give me a 10/30 on an English essay we peer-graded because I told her off for talking about me behind my back.

Well, told her off isn't the right choice of words...I told her I appreciated all her kind words about me, and that I'd appreciate it even more if she had the courage to say them to my face.

This is just from my personal experience with Penn admissions (which is very little), but judging from the applicants who were accepted from my school already, I'm convinced that Penn looks at SATs as more of a "check-off", so they can invest their time reading essays, recs, etc.

As for class rank: candidates from the top 1% were deferred while candidates from the top 2/3% were admitted (however the co-val. was admitted). I'm under the impression that anywhere in the top 5% (and probably 10%) is solid. The differences between the top 1% and top 2%, etc. is just splitting hairs.

Top 5-10%?

i'm 16%

stupid losers at my school keep getting kicked out for being stupid jerkfaces and they all happen to be at the LOWEST END of the class rank pool.

I just haven't been exposed to a lot of good writing (in fact, out of all my peers, only one is truly an exceptional, exceptional, exceptional writer), so anything that looks better than my writing (which is almost everything) looks very impressive to me.

Bottom line: don't look at me. lol

Eckie,

don't listen to what I have to say. My school is on the bigger side, and I think being a "top" student isn't uber hard (being ranked 30 means the top 5%, and being ranked ~60 means the top 10%).

man i could use a good harsh critique
haha

KRabble, you are currently one of my favorite people on CC :)

:(:(:(:(:(:(

man i love BSing on apps for like GW and other safeties...

why do you want to go to GW?

ha. had a laugh with that one.

ONE OF THEM

you cant deny that (s)he's a nice breath of...niceness.

dont worry about rank...they care more about gpa than where youre rank is because obviously if you are at a competative school, youre rank will be lower but your gpa will still remain strong.

Lol, I was kidding. And yes he is. Krabble, wanna read my Why Penn and tell me I'm God?
