Profile in state/Out of State

Does anyone know the SAT/GPA at W&M for instate vs. out of state?

With the average entering GPA being ~4.0, it's safe to say that the in state students don't bring that number down much at all.

As for the SATs, as you would expect, the out of state students are usually higher scoring. Or, as a whole group, their average is higher. The out of state students are probably more around the 1400+ level, and the instate students are probably around the 1300 level, generally. Obviously there are instate students with higher SATs, and out of state students with lower SATs.

W&M is not as numbers driven as most state schools. If it was, the numbers, especially SAT scores, would likely be higher. However, W&M looks at the rest of the application. You can get in with lower numbers if you give them a reason to want you.

Many applicants with the numbers get left out from the OoS acceptance pool and the instate pool. Northern VA is an academic powerhouse and there isn't room for everyone with the "numbers that should get them in".
