We just submitted the CSS Profile for DD who applied EA to Santa Clara. Their finaid office sent us an email reminding us that priority filing deadline was November 15. Thank goodness they sent that email...we just didn't catch that deadline on the website ourselves. So we completed the form VERY quickly and of course did estimates of the 2005 numbers...but we think they are pretty close!! Still keeping fingers crossed that DD gets accepted!!

what are her stats?

650 Math, 580 CR, 630 writing (I don't think they are looking at that), 5/194 class rank, 3.87 weighted GPA, state ranked oboe/English horn player also plays in precollege orchestra at the Hartt School (is not majoring in music), swimmer, great recommendations. And from the other side of the country from where Santa Clara is located.

looks pretty good, id say shes in

why is ur cc name the same as that charcter in that one books name?

because that one book happens to be my favorite book...

Gee....and I thought that you were inquiring about MY screenname Thumper...also a famous character (ok...in the movie Bambi...not a great book). Well..just in case you're curious, it's the name of my now dead cocker spanial who thumped his foot frequently while scratching his ear.

Thanks Holden for the vote of confidence. I hope you are right about DD's chances. Santa Clara is FAR and away her first choice. She absolutely loved everything about it and it met ALL of her criteria (strong sciences, music program accepting of non-majors, and nice weather). I can tell you...it wasn't easy to find a school that met all three of those criteria!! The music piece was the hardest...many schools do not welcome non-majors into their ensembles, and do not offer them lessons. Santa Clara does both. We would be thrilled if she got accepted, but you never know....

Oops...I goofed on that class rank. She is 8/194 not 5/194.

Aahh, I'm really frightened about this. I forgot to check my "college email" address for a few days and missed the email about PROFILE. Unfortunately I have had a very difficult time finding anything on SCU's website during this entire app season, including details about the PROFILE. We sent it in, about a week late, and now I'm very nervous as financial aid is a decisive factor in college choices for me.

That November 15 Profile submission date was for Early Action/priority consideration only. The regular date is later.

I know - I applied EA.

I agree about the finaid application info on the website. I never did find anything on it about a priority time for EA applicants and the profile. If they hadn't sent DD that email, it would not have gotten done.
