Any insight on what this is and who should apply for this major?
What kind of classes and EC’s should someone have to be considered for this major?
Should I incorporate it in my Essays?
Is the major easier to get into ND

PLS, from what I understand, is a major that focuses heavily on literature. I would recommend reading up on it on the ND website. Go to academics>college of arts and letters>majors>program of liberal studies. You do not have to apply to a specific major at Notre Dame (with the exception of pre-admission to the Mendoza College of Business). Just because you do not have EC’s related to literature does not mean you won’t get in to study PLS. If PLS is something you’re interested in, try to find related EC’s. And, if you’re truly passionate and you think you can write an engaging essay about literature, then go for it. Don’t force it if it doesn’t feel natural, though. I do not know if declaring a certain major makes it easier to get in; many people change their majors once arriving here, though, so just because you declare a major on your application doesn’t mean you have to stick with it.
