Hi everyone!

I'm set on a future in STEM (each field seems interesting, but I tentatively wish to major in electrical engineering at the moment), and want to apply for general or specific science programs.

However, after doing a bit of research, I've discovered that most of the prestigious and/or useful and/or edifying programs are exclusively for rising seniors. The only programs I found that were available for rising juniors (i.e. sophomore right now) seemed rather low-level.

In saying this, I don't intend to be arrogant, but as an example, CMU's SAMS program for rising juniors includes physics and SAT prep as part of the curriculum. I have already taken honors physics (AP next year, however, so I don't have much AP knowledge) and the SAT I, and I am satisfied with my SAT score. While it seems like a solid program, I am not particularly sure as to whether I would have much to learn from attending it.

Do you guys have any recommendations for summer programs dealing with the sciences available to rising juniors? From the general to the specific, there must be some great ones out there, but I cannot seem to find any. It's also somewhat worrying, as it's late in the year already, and many deadlines might have passed or may be looming already.

I want to be able to make use of my summer and show colleges that I am striving to do my best, and sitting around without doing much of anything doesn't sound like a good way to spend the summer. I have a great SAT score and GPA (if I may say so myself, haha). However, I have few extracurriculars, and not from lack of trying, so a attending a good summer program is at the top of my list of objectives. >__<

Thank you all very much! ^^
