Best part of the 80s is metal
@awesomepolyglot Are you reading the book, listening to the song, both, or what? Lol
Reading the book and listening to The Book of Souls.
@Hermit9 Yes for the Doors!
“Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother, I want to … (Insert Jim Morrison going insane)”
Lol @awesomepolyglot I meant Anthem is related to 2112 by Rush.
Book of Souls is a fantastic album for a metal band in their 60s, but I think the short songs lack a little bit.
@TheWaffleMan149 I figured Anthem and TBOS were unrelated, but you recommended TBOS to me earlier.
@awesomepolyglot Yeah I highly recommend that album for the longer songs. If Eternity Should Fail, The Red and the Black, The Book of Souls, and Empire of the Clouds are incredible tracks. It is a lot to take in though
The End is one of the most epic songs ever!!!
Doors are awesome!
@TheWaffleMan149 I just finished Speed of Light.
@awesomepolyglot The Red and The Black and title track are coming up
@Hermit9 True dat!!
@TheWaffleMan149 Just finished Anthem.
EGO
Hahahah. Now you have to listen to 2112! It will make much more sense!
Anthem was a fair book. 2112 is a prog masterpiece
So on another note, what do you guys think is the greatest prog song of all time?
Echoes by Pink Floyd.
Close to the Edge is a close second.
@Hermit9 Ooh those are good. If I really had to pick my absolute favorite, I would probably say the entire Shine On You Crazy Diamond suite with Supper’s Ready and 2112 close behind.
Yeah, I’d definitely include SOYCD and Dogs in that list.
Lizard and Lark’s Tongues are great too. SR and 2112 are solid as well.
Currently jamming to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVMIk3xYaYo
Not half bad either
Animals is one of my favorite PF albums!
Animals is amazing. It, DSOTM, and WYWH are definitely my top 3. Not a big Wall fan, but I love Piper, Saucerful, AHM, and Meddle.
I love the Wall. I marathon’ed the Wall every day after school for two months a year or two ago
