Thanks for the encouragement, guys. :)

My plan is to go with my closest friends. I don't have a boyfriend, and I think this will be much more fun than if I tried to go with a boy I wasn't dating. I did get asked by a boy who's interested in me, but I knew it would be sort of awkward and weird if we went, plus I didn't want to give him the wrong impression about my feelings about him. So friends it is.

Have you all gotten dresses? I haven't yet (I need to get moving on that, prom's in two weeks!), but there are a couple I have my eye on :-)

i have to yet to get a dress too, vegangirl. i haven't even begun to look.

anyone else not going?

Oh Yeah.

but that doesn't mean I wont go to the parties afterwards, and if all goes well I wont even remember prom night. It'll be nothing compared to a graduation party at my friends beach hosue though.

No dress here either. I probably won't even start thinking about it for another few weeks.

Yay another prom thread.

I was rejected. And I hate girls.

oh, i'm sorry vicissitudes...

camelia - I'd suggest getting the dress asap, as it can take a few weeks before it comes in in your size, and it might require altering which can also take time, and if your first choice isn't in on time (it happened to me), then you'll need to get another quickly and still leave time to buy the matching accesories. Most people I know have gotten their dress in February for the late May prom!

My prom is on May 13th. At a small school, the whole school gets to go and we get awesome free dresses. They're really nice, often never-worn, and entirely free with accessories. I love charity...

Seriously? I don't think anyone I've talked to here has bought a dress yet... maybe my school just doesn't get that into it. Good points about accessories/getting it altered, though.

Free dresses? God, I'm jealous. I spent a bundle at Jessica Mcclintock and perhaps a whole 24 hours devoted to hunting down accessories and shoes.

This year, I ended up getting a different one from somewhere else. The catch with the free ones is you only get half an hour to find, try on, and get. I found great ones freshmen and sophomore year and a good one that doesn't really fit this year. I ended up going to the discount rack at Macys....haha. I did get an awesome sequined purse at the free place, though.

Really? Over here the impression is that its kinda against the law to reject a prom date so if someone you hate asks you first you either say yes or dont go, or else you get labled the biggest titch ever. This rule only applies if youre even remotely friendly with the potential date, tho. Not the random hit on you guys. So yea better hope someone you dont like doesnt ask you. Thankfully that didnt happen to me.

blah...I am dreading going to prom, I wish it wasn't so late so I could just get it over with (June 3). I don't mind the actual event, but just all of the stress of before the it. I feel like it's just one of those things you have to do, even if you don't want to...

i know exactly what you mean, wilmingtonwave. there has been so much prom drama...

Lights_out's school is full of Dee-dee-dee's.

ha what's that?

Gleech, thats good advice. I went to homecoming with this guy who I thought was hot and semi-had a crush on, but going to prom made us really awkward as friends and now we dont even talk to each other anymore :[

Aww, he asked the right girl.

Can anyone else who watches Mencia clear up dee-dee-dee for the pitcher?
