Prom

Question:
How important is it for a senior to attened their high school prom?

life or death important

it's all about conforming to tradition

depends how much you like dancing. and if you have friends like that, drinking and getting laid. not necessarily in that order...

I'm serious, too.

i think, if you think the "highschool prom" memories are vital for the rest of your life, you should go. Or if you want to dress up, you should go. Or if you want to see other people in pretty dresses, you shoudl go. Or if you want to go for the food, you should go. Or if you want to ride in a limousine, you should go. If you want to go to the prom, you should go. Very simple dimple limple mimple

gee, thanks.
I really dont know. It's in two weeks and I havent gotten anything
( I always leave everything to the last minute). My friends really want me to go, but I just dont know if I I should.
Anyways, I'll probably end up going.

go...is this a joke?

Yeah definitely go.

You should go because it will become a memory in your high school life that you won't forget.

go because all the cool people are going

i think it's important to go....why not? i like getting all dressed up..

....even if you hate the dancing, it's always an adventure! lots of fun high school drama to entertain you!

yah go....... its uber fun

holy crud that's early; we have ours June 10th

I don't know about you guys but my prom would cost me upwards of $500 easily, probably closer to $700-$800, so I'm not sure if I'm going to go. I'm going to my friends prom so I might just stick with that.

Prom is nothing but an enormous waste of money. Hundreds of dollars to listen to crappy music and watch people get trashed/get trashed. If you want to dress up so badly, do it and go to someone's house and party there. At least then you don't have to pay for the ticket + car or be surrounded by morons.

Can you tell I love my classmates? :P

yeah, It can definetly get pertty expensive.

I think is early too. Not to mention its about a week before APs.

expensive...you do realize this is your last and ONLY Prom!!! I can't believe people would even consider not going to it..even if they hated dancing and partying with a passion...Sorry, lol. I would be a little crazy about Prom in my last year of high school EVER>>><><><><><><><>< ok I'm done.

Ours is Saturday. Too late to ask anyone, so I'm not going.

i agree with blackbeltcdjunkie (!)
I'm THE most socially-deprived person I know, yet I going... It's a once in a life time things, so why not? Guys don't have to spend tons and tons of $$, either do they?
Anyway, it's the day after all AP's are done. Enjoy it!

i dont think its important...im not going...forget prom this yr...anyway its at skool!

umm money is replaceable, this chance to make lasting memories is not.

on the other hand, who cares what our high school classmates think. we're probably not gonna stay in touch. for that matter, most of the people we meet in life we're not gonna stay in touch with. so why care about other people? friends? who needs em when youve got work to do. i mean, nobody really matters until you get a job? right? right?

if you can get a date, go to prom. if you cant, well, thats what people will assume happened when you tell em you didnt attend your prom. but who cares what ANYBODY thinks right? you can get along fine on ur own. by yourself. without ever needing to connect with other people to get ahead in life.

high school is more than a stepping stone in college. it is a chapter in ur life where you will remember more than what you need to go to college. you learn about people, about social interactions, about what to do when someone comes to you with this problem. and what not to do when the person ur infatuated does this. diss your high school classmates' immaturity and shallowness all you want, but everyone was like that at one point. its a phase of life and all of those people will become the mature adults you think you are. (last sentence directed at those who think they are better than their peers)
