Pros and Cons of UCSD?

<p>Can anyone list any pros or cons of UCSD or its colleges?</p>

<p>I can get the ball rolling with a few</p>

<p>Pros:
- An elite UC, quickly gaining Cal and UCLA status.
- BEAUTIFUL campus. My favorite of the UCs</p>

<p>Cons:
- La Jolla can be expensive, and for housing after sophomore year it can be problematic
- No Division I sports teams I know of, aka no cheap national coverage of the school.</p>

<p>PROS
-top tier UCs with some good competition.
-opened 1959 so it's one of the newer campuses and it looks nice.
-engineering is ranked really high at ucsd.
-i hear the premed fields are going up there!</p>

<p>CONS
-less social
-6 school system causes some separation
-people go to tijuana and sdsu to party?</p>

<p>Big PRO: walking distance to the beach especially from Muir
Cons: from what I heard, the La Jolla residents dislike UCSD students</p>

<p>pretty much only con i can think of: lack of social scene (including NO DIV. 1 SPORTS)</p>

<p>Engineering school is ranked higher than UCLA's.
No LA smog.</p>
