<p>So I'm considering whether or not to do a senior thesis project. My major is Biochemistry/statistics and I currently work in a biochem research lab. I don't plan on going into grad school for biochem or into academia. I am considering a masters in stats though. So I'm not sure if it would be beneficial to me to do a senior project? So I'm just wondering from the people who have done one, what do u feel are the pros and cons?</p>
<p>Pro: it’ll look good, it’s good experience to write a thesis (you may have to do a thesis when you get your masters)</p>
<p>Con: it takes time and work</p>
<p>If you’re not going into academia, it’s probably not that big of a deal, but if it won’t detract too significantly from other things you’d rather be doing, I would recommend it. There’s no real downside, unless you don’t have the time to commit to it.</p>
