Pros & Cons for UCR?!

Some want the freshman experience of dorming…I know that’s why I ended up choosing UCR over CC.Albeit, UCR has grown on me, and after orientation even moreso…so who knows in 2 years whats going to happen.

UCR has grown on me too (:

who ever tells me that they are going to transfer in 2 years and talks smack about UCR they r going to meet my fist before they finish dissing it

Well, most people do transfer because they failed college apps. Just laugh at them by default

hahahahahha you just wasted 30k in going to a prestigous college just cause u were "too good"for a jc.and you are about to dicth out another 30k for the same education in a more expensive city and a bigger school . hahahaha ■■■■■■, lol

lol Jason calm down brother
Just let them do what they want.
In the end, they’ll be the ones spending an extra 2-3 years paying off what they spent at UCR

LOL, im down to back ya up there Jason!
or we can just shove some differential equations in their faces and walk away with a smirk, heh heh heh.

If you see someone dressed as Scotty drag two bloddy bodies up the mountain behind the Big C that will be me lol jk

nice you better take some pictures of that

yo jason! i see “transfer from ucr to ucla” thread…

hold on let me load the M 16 and put the Scotty custom on who wants to be Navel the orange you get an free AK

ill take that

lol get some OICWs’

Pros
-friendly people
-our UV can beat your UV up
-off-campus housing is affordable, decent
-it’s a true meritocracy
-diverse
-some stellar departments (business, psychology, creative writing), but good academically, overall.

Cons
-some people have defeatist attitude
-people who say they’re going to transfer

UCR in terms of quality of professors are as good as the teachers at other better UC’s and some of their academic departments are really underrated…the change in perception is merely because of its location and some of it’s people. The only thing I would knock UCR about is how easy it is to get in…and therefore we still have a sizable student population that is “stupid” and still think they are in high school.

I hope they follow what Santa Cruz is doing because I remembered a couple of years ago their admissions rate was also in the 80s now it’s in the 60s and dropping more.

Jeffrey, I believe you are talking about getting out of referral campus status. Unfortunately, UCM is too small to bump us out of that status. The good news is that by the 2012, UC will only take the top 10% of cali high school seniors instead of the 12.5%…hopefully, UCR reputation will improve thereafter.

I agree with you guys… people who say they are going to PLAN to transfer from UCR are really stupid. They are basically wasting their money to go to prestigious colleges. I’ve seen people who transfer to UCLA and UCI… and they later regretted about transferring out because they could’ve had life-long friends at UCR who could actually support them in the long run.

UCR is a very underestimated school. I actually visited today to check out where i was going to be living and my cousin actually showed me around most of the campus. I’m really excited to attend and I really think people need to get their facts straight before they start running their mouths. A lot of people have tried to convince me that there is absolutely nothing to do there and question me for even considering submitting my SIR to UCR. From what I learned and saw today, I think im going to enjoy my years at UCR and i play on spending 4 years (hopefully) there so unlike many of those uncertain about their attending UCR, im going to make the most of it and have a kick @$$ time.

Andrubi, great attitude, welcome aboard!

Love your attitude Andrubi. I love your intrinsic motivation. That’s what people need for college.
