Pros/cons of davis

I have narrowed down my college decision for next year to between UCD and UCSD. I was interested in hearing others pros and cons of davis people felt from experience.
Are there fun things to do in the evenings and weekends? How are classes and professors? What’s the town of Davis like or do you go to Sac do do anything fun. Dorm life? Also, what are the fellow students like? I’m looking for a mix of work hard and play hard. I want to be in an environment where people somewhat care about their education, but like to have fun and aren’t occupied with studying 24/7.

Visit and see for yourself. Or go to you-tube and see what students have put up.

You should definitely try to visit both campuses to draw up a conclusion. Came across this thread and I thought it brought up some interesting points/views.

Thanks that was a helpful thread to look at. Still am totally unsure of my decision, but I just need to think about what is best for me and I will figure it out.

Good luck!

Fun things to do on weekends/weekdays - yes, especially sports. (Usually you team with your dorm floor/building, etc.)
check out Davis Wiki - The definitive resource for Davis, California

Classes and professors vary, just like with any school - RateMyProfessors.com

Good luck. The looking at it on youtube is also a good idea :)

Have you visited Davis? It is quite different but very nice. It wouldn't be for everyone but D liked it a lot. The people have a lot of school spirit, more so than UCSD I think because they really do support their sports teams.

im facing the SAME problem, like exactly!!!

i chose uc davis because it was just a lot more affordable for the same education. It is only undergrad and if you don’t like it for year, you can transfer.
