Prospective class of 2012-ers:

yeah, i dont spend much time here so i didnt see them. and ekirth, i just really like the option of knowing where i can go early. i firmly believe that if you can get in ED, you could have got in with regular decision.

Yeah, the stats on ED were crazy--for the Class of 2010, they accepted 599 (26.8%) of the 2236 ED applicants, compared to 1193 (7.8%) of the 15,327 RD applicants.

For me, I would have chosen to apply ED because the chances of getting in seem to be higher, and it's really the only place I want to go.

Isn't Princeton, with Harvard, ditching the ED or EA next year?

I'm looking to apply, but I have no first choice.

Oops... sorry, didn't read the page before this one. So they ARE taking it away.

Oh bummer! I was hoping to apply early to princeton. But I'm willing to bet the chances of getting in are about the same ED and RD....I hope.

Meh..this ED/RD thing won't make a big difference. Princeton's acceptance rate is going to climb a bit, however, getting in won't be significantly easier or harder since past years once normed for class competitiveness.

woo go princeton! Any other legacies in here?

Roar!!!!!!!

Hey!

I've been living in Germany for the past year as a exchange student, and this whole time I've been freaking out (not really to the degree but you know) about applying... Here almost no one has heard of Princeton unless you say Einstein tought there...then they're like "Ah ja...alles klar".... But any way, a friend apllied to Pton from here in germany and even found an Alumni that lived in Frankfurt am Main (aka Frankfurt that we all know)... And she is pretty amazing like Congress page, daul citizian (not really amazing she really didn't choose it or work for it but still counts for something), tri-lingaul(sp?)and got a 2300 on the SAT...and she got waitlisted from both Yale and Pton...so the point of this story is who are these schools (Ivy league) looking for really?

Does any of understand...

this group is a good idea...

Is there anyone from florida here who's gonna apply in 2008?

Let me just add that people in Germany (and Austria) usually DO recognize Princeton as a world-class university, but that's it. The fewest of us know how the American education system exactly works or what would be necessary to apply there. By the way, there's also a respectable number of alumni all over Germany.

There are a lot of amazing applicants each year. You didn't describe the fate of an individual but the fate of thousands of kids who are extremely qualified and have been very successful for their entire lives. No one knows what these universities are really looking for, we can only guess. One thing that seems to be for sure is that - despite stellar achievements in your school career - you will also need a lot of luck to get in.

I don't think I will get in here.... sigh

Princeton is my #1. I visited it and absolutely fell in love. I was pretty much thinking to myself "PLEASE just let me in!!! Pick me! Pick me! Pick meeeee!!!!"

heh.

naidu90 wow....self-esteem....get some...and grow a pair.....

having self-esteem does not ensure that you will get in, buddy....

Well I posted about 20023903283 times last "season" and I made it a point to never say (or try never to say, after a certain point) that I wouldn't get in/had no chance/etc., but because it's a) demoralizing b) pessimistically realistic and c) not conducive or helpful to anything. Anyway, I tried to never say that...you know, to retain a sense of hope throughout it all...and on March 29th I was MORE than pleasantly surprised.

all right, all right! I get it....

I meant chin up, stomach in, because without selfesteem the battle is already over...and you lost it...

Danpo, wo genau in

I guess I interpreted your message Alzenauer :o
