Prospective Student Looking for Advice

Okay, so I really want to go to Duke but I know it's really hard to get in.. and i also understand that just being good at academics doesn't suffice but I am not able to participate in any school or outside activities (due to a lack of transport and a bunch of other stuff) and i have no community service hours either for the same reason.. and i know duke (and any college for that matter) looks for well rounded students who excel in more than one field.. how can i make up for this "hole" in my resume..

btw i'm a junior right now and am currently taking 4 AP classes and 3 Honors all of which I have an A in.. and I've been a straight A student my entire high school career.. and i've taken an AP class 9th grade and 2 in the 10th grade (i passed them all) does that help at all?

*i'm taking the sat next saturday for the first time.. any tips?

You can possibly make “lemonade from this lemon.” Use your essay to explain to Duke why you have been unable to do so, elaborate concerning the economics/rural community/family constraints/whatever else make transportation impossible, and finally conclude with a “despite these impediments, I have been able to . . .” summary that compels Duke to see this situation as evidence of your character and your overcoming hardships. HOWEVER, be sure you’re absolutely honest (Duke may be able to cross-check with prior year applicants from your school, among other methods). In addition, your counselor’s recommendation should emphasize the same points as your essay. If, by chance, the reason for your transportation issues isn’t overwhelming (for example, you’ve opted not to use public transportation or not to arrange a car pool schedule), I’d then suggest you have a major problem.
