Prospective Transfer Student Letter Received! Thoughts please?

Here is the letter I received from the Office of Admissions:

Thank you for your interest in attending the University of Michigan. We have completed an initial individualized and comprehensive review of your application to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and have taken into consideration both your academic achievements and your educational goals. Although your qualifications indicate that you could be a successful student at Michigan, the large number of applicants for a limited number of transfer places prevents us from making a decision at this time. Your application will be reviewed again when we have a better estimate of the number of places available. This is expected to be in April for spring, summer, or fall term applicants.

You have our best wishes for a successful year. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding your admission status.

Sincerely,
Moira Poe
Admissions Counselor

What do you guys make of this?

Sounds like a deferral to me?

Yep, deferred :frowning:

Not sure if it’s the “good” or “bad” letter, or if such a thing even exists for transfer students.

what did you stats end up being? I browsed your previous postings and they were grades you “expected” to get. Are you in-state?

I applied for summer semester as a junior standing. I might lose some credit hours and be a 2nd semester sophomore tho…

my college gpa is a 3.85 and if i get all A’s this next semester is will be like a 3.87 with 55 hours completed and basically all of them transferable credits. My hs gpa was a 2.8 or something, maybe lower I honestly have no clue. I got a 29 act. Look on the bright side, you still have a chance. I know how it feels to have to wait forever, but there is light at the end of the tunnel
