I've completed one semester at Umass Amherst, with a gap of 3.53. This semester I should stick around a 3.5ish again. My high school GPA was low, at about a 3.0 (UW). My SATs weren't amazing either at 1770. Although Math was my highest at 660. I was wondering what my chances are if I wanted to transfer to schools like NYU.
If 3.5 wasn't high enough to get in, what do you think my GPA should be to go to schools like that. Or what schools could I get into with a 3.5 GPA. I'm looking into business and would like to go to a decent undergraduate business school.

bump, I would like opinions.

when you apply as a transfer student… schools don’t look at your high school grades and scores. only at your college scores… i hope I make sense :). please chance me back. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1320775-chance-junior-dream-school-admissions-will-chance-back.html#post14186639

bump again

Dominique is incorrect. Some state schools only look at college grades but pivots will look at high school grades and scores too. With a 660 math score, Stern will want to see excellent college grades in advance math courses and excellent recs from math/Econ profs.

Thanks, however I was wondering if I could get in elsewhere such as Emory. I have a 3.52 from my first year at UMass, I was wondering where my best chances are of getting in. Too bad all my classes were very large lectures and didn’t get to know any of the prof’s personally.
