Anyone know how good the bio program - pre-med track is at Providence? My daughter loved the place but she is top in her class and I got the feeling that only a few students get into med school - I think this class was around 10 to 15...

Any information about the quality of the program would be appreciated..

I don’t know but I was just scanning through the posts topics and this one jumped out at me because my sister starts Providence on Thursday. She’s very excited and I hope to have a lot more info on the school soon if you have any questions. Good luck in your search!

And just my (slightly informed) knowledge about premed programs is that no matter the school they are all pretty tough and only a handful of students from each school go directly to a U.S. med school.

Before you post your question about Providence there though read through this pinned thread, it will answer a lot of questions and spare you being derided for being lazy by some of the posters there. ;)

PS, One common theme you will find will be that ANY school can prepare a student for med school and that fit and happiness are far more important than whether school A has a better Bio program than school B.

I’ve been through both the undergrad and med school application process with my S who is now an M3 (third year med student) so I would be happy to answer any questions via PM.

Hi Big Sis – just got home from bringing DD down for her first year at Providence. Other than sweating off ten pounds or so hauling all the stuff, it was a great day. Fr. Shanley had wonderful words to impart on the class of 2014 at the welcome mass. Hope your sister has great experience. Now they all just have to get thru Hurricane Earl!!
