Providence College vs. Drew University

It is getting close to the deadline and I am stuck between two schools, Providence College and Drew University. I knew that these two schools were going to speak to me before I even went for visits. I love the city of Providence and the sense of community I get from the school. Drew is a beautiful school and is not far from NYC, it is also really good for my major, Political Science.
Music is a major factor and joining an A cappella has been a dream of mine. I know both have excellent music groups so it is so hard.
I know that which ever school I choose is a wonderful choice but I need a bit more advice to help me make that final decision.

I attend Drew right now as a sophomore, and I really enjoy it. Drew is approximately forty-five minutes away from NYC, via NJ Transit. The train station is ten minutes from campus. I go in frequently for concerts and events. What’s also great about this access to NYC is that Drew offers the UN Semester - where you can take classes at the UN and intern there during your sophomore/junior/senior yr. The Political Science department is definitely a strength at Drew.

Here is more information about UN Semester: [Think beyond the classroom - Drew University](http://www.drew.edu/thinkbeyond/default.aspx?id=27281)

We have big speakers come into talk to the student body. Last week, Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the UN spoke, and the Poli Sci majors were able to have a conference with him before his discussion. Before that, it was Tony Blair.

In regards to a capella, it is really big here. There are three a capella groups on campus, one is all female, one is co-ed, and one is just for the boys. The all female one have competed in California, and have won competitions. All of them are very good, and the kids at Drew are really talented.

Good luck with your decision. Both schools are great! If you need more advice, just shoot me a message.

Thanks for the info, Drew is a wonderful place. I am glad to have the ability to choose between these two schools. I can’t wait to make this decision and see where it takes me. I can’t go wrong.

Hello, I was accepted at Drew University and Providence College. I am really stuck between those too. Help please?

Go to the cheapest option. Neither is worth more than the other.

My son enjoyed his 4 years at Drew, and the aid was better for us than Providence. Although drinking occurs at both, Providence also seemed a bit more so and had a number of incidences that had the staff mention they were trying to curb it.
The Washington Semester at Drew was popular and the size made it easier for my son to learn and get to know his professors personally. (that helped with recs later)

Both are good schools, work hard and both can help you achieve what you desire.
