Hi thought I would start a new discussion on my D getting wait listed from Providence. Were hopeful that they will offer admission this year as in years past. Her guidance counselor made a phone call on her behalf stating that it was her number 1 choice and she would definitely accept a spot from it if she was offered one.
Hi–do you mind posting stats?
BromleyNE…my D has a 3.6/4.0 2 AP’s all honors from Freshman through Junior Year, skipped 9th grade and had to transfer to a new school her senior year, it has been pretty tough on her but she knows the competition was extremley tough…NHS,Volunteers at local Hospital in Cardio Unit participates in sports and many other service hours etc…how about yours?
My son was waitlisted for Providence College also. Totally sucks. Will he be eligible for financial aid if he pulls through from the list?
My son has 3.5 GPA, 3 AP classes and one honors class. High honor student with tons of community service and so on

What about financial aid?
I too was waitlisted after being deferred from EA. GPA between 3.5 and 3.6 with 4 AP’s and many honors/higher level courses.
Kristen413, Caligirl203 I guess we all have kids that more than qualified…I’m not sure how they will narrow it down to who they accept from the wait list…did you accept a spot on it? Good luck to both of you…will keep you posted if I hear anything withing the coming weeks.
Weird- my daughters stats were below all of yours and somehow got in. Maybe they think you are over qualified and have better school options.
BromleyNE Congrats!..I hope that’s not the case…my D really only wanted to get into Providence and was devastated when she received the news she was wait listed…if it’s meant to be then she will get off the list…if not she’ll choose from the other colleges she was accepted at…so will your daughter commit to Providence?
@Massmom2015 Is your D on a gap year?
Wisteria 100 Hi, no she combined 8th and 9th grade together and advanced to 10th grade only because she took an accelerated schedule and had the grades to do so. That’s why she was able to graduate a year early than some of her peers. We made sure that she was able to handle the demanding classes and was mature enough before we finally decide it was the right choice for her. We are hopeful that an acceptance might be in her future if not…things will work out for the best. How about you were you accepted, wait listed? Do you mind posting your stats as well?
Wisteria100 Sorry that comment through me off for a moment…my eldest daughter was in the class of 2019…I signed up in 2015 on CC…so maybe the date after my name made you ask about a gap year.
@Massmom2015 yes, I thought I remembered you posting last yr about a D trying to get accepted from wl. Sorry you are in that position again. My D was accepted ED to Holy Cross, so she withdrew her app to Providence.
Good luck
@Massmom2015 I will most likely be accepting a spot on the waitlist. Good luck to your daughter!
Kristen413 I believe if your son gets off the wait list they will make an offer, not sure how much they have available if and when that takes place. Good luck to you also!
Caligirl203 Thanks…you too! Now we just wait and see…
Yes, we are still hopeful for a spot. Good luck to you! Keep us posted!
I hate this waiting game! I guess 725 kids accepted waitlist status.
