Provisional Admission Contract

So far the only UC I've gotten into is UCR and its pretty basic get a "C or better" in all courses for spring

but as far as other UCs contracts for ex if a UC says maintain a 3.5GPA do they mean for the spring semester or overall?

Because I am almost certain I will be getting a C in one of my classes, and my spring semester gpa is going to be horrible..but my overall GPA would only drop to a 3.7, so I'm pretty scared I won't meet any other UC contracts terms.

It depends… However try to avoid the D list, getting a D can have your admission recinded

It should specify. As far as I know, the hardest semester/quarter GPA requirement is Berkeley’s… and that’s just to keep a 3.0+ for the term. But you should still be doing your best, and definitely try not to fail anything. :P

@Dagoberto if I get close to a D i would rather drop it, that is if the UCs I want to attend say I could without having admissions recinded. Im just nervous about one class, my professor is plain scary. He actually refused to let a student take the midterm because they walked into class 5 minutes late… I guess professor have the right to do this, but still he grades just as harshly. I am going to try my best and see where that takes me in his class.

They should specify, as @failure622 said.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the admissions office of whichever UC you decide to attend that has accepted you.

Personally, looking through threads on this forum in past years, I have yet to hear of anyone who has gotten their offer of admission rescinded for getting a C in one class, even from UCLA or Berkeley. I hope that makes you feel just a little bit better.

Personally, I think you’ll be fine as long as you avoid getting any D’s or F’s and don’t get like 3 or 4 C’s in your last semester.

It’s overall, not semesterly. Just maintain that overall 3.7 and you’re fine. Just don’t get any lower than a C. no worries.
