GPA contract thing

Ok. I know this has been asked before but I never saw a clear answer for it. Anyone who asked already:
Do you know if the 3.0 GPA for the Winter and/or Spring semester with all classes a C or better requirement means:
a) a 3.0 GPA for the Winter and a 3.0 GPA for the Spring
b) a combined 3.0 GPA for the Winter and the Spring

I am curious because what if you took 1 course in the Spring or Winter and got a C? Or if you took three courses in the Spring and got an A,B,C (=less than 3.0)?

I emailed my admofcr and no response... i called admissions and they said email admissions ofcr. hm... i'm curious.

Honestly, I don’t think anyone knows for sure. I’ve read my admission contract thoroughly (UCLA), and it’s very vague. Some people received very, very specific contracts, but I just received the generic one. Mine doesn’t say anything about receiving Cs, it just mentions “significant drop in GPA,” whatever that means. I’m on track to get a A, a B, and a C this semester, which would put me just under a 3.0 (the C is 5 units, the A is 4 units). Since I’ve already accumulated a s**t-ton of units, it won’t greatly affect my overall GPA (3.74). I’m not sure if they want your overall GPA to be over 3.0 or over 3.0 for each term.
From everything I’ve read, they’re mainly concerned with dropped/failed classes. Basically, you need to meet certain parameters to transfer (finish IGETC and major requirements, have a 3.0). If you don’t meet those parameters, you’re ineligible to transfer. If you were to drop/fail a required class, you would no longer be eligible for transfer, thus they would rescind your admission. If you did poorly and your overall GPA dropped below 3.0, you would no longer be eligible to transfer and would be rescinded.
If this was very important, they would come up with something very specific. Since they didn’t come up with anything specific for me, I don’t think they really care.

In conclusion, I have no idea what I’m talking about. Forget everything you just read.

You do need to get a 3.0 or above in both semesters. I am sure of this.

yep you are right. my admissions officer just got back to me today.
she wrote;
The 3.0 stipulation is for each semester. If you have a grade you are
uncertain about or concerns, please let me know and I can confer with
management. According to my quick informal calculation an A, B, and C grade
in one term is equivalent to a 3.0, but just let me know the grades you have
received so I can look at it more thoroughly.
