<p>Sorry to see him go. Only just learned about him the last few months, but he seemed like a strong leader and a legitimate scientific heavyweight with a knack for building faculties and programs.</p>
<p>I had thought he would be a natural replacement for President Zimmer who one would expect to be retiring in a few years. But you can understand him leaving for the presidency of Caltech which has got to be one of the top academic jobs in the world. </p>
