PSAT '09 Form S Official Thread

Can we confirm the following SCs?

Surly … Honorable
Oracular
Satirical
Elan … technique
Prattle

Any more?

Yes, its “similar to THAT of the NE US.”

i know i got the oracular one and the question about a sad music type wrong

the music one was that d word (i feel like an idiot for saything that but can’t remember it :stuck_out_tongue: )

@scrivener: probably…
@opie: arghh i think i put ne…although i dont really remember the question

Yeah, those SCs can be confirmed.

did anyone else think it was odd that thye talked about Jane Goodall so much?

oh sry nvm…my comp takes 4evr to load so my last post prob didnt make much sense haha

Did anyone think that that the one writing choice was pressure from movie makers

Wait, so how do you calculate your scaled score?

I vaguely remember that one… I put down something else.

no i put that (for the favorite book/movie one): Sometimes the adapations are not so successful.
or something like that…

Look at a conversion table for a past PSAT. This PSAT should be similar. I just use the one in the practice test booklet I got when I registered.

scrivener, that was a different question

:( I’m so screwed, the cutoff of NJ is like 230…and I definitely did not get that :frowning: I got like 226…Whatever, I guess I just have to study to get the extra hundred points on the SAT. Thanks for the help.

oh right… i didn’t put the pressure from the movie maker.
i think that i said its hard to stay acurate with the original or something, just because the next sentence talked about being reliable to the book.

and my princeton review book says NJ cutoff is 221. and I hope it is. for your sake… and mine :P

Most people put that “Although some books are easy to adapt,” but I thought that was contradictory to the topic sentence and the point of the paragraph.

Yea, that’s what I put…

Why aren’t quoting messages working?

It was also an easy segue into explaining why content must be edited.

It read like “Because of pressure from movie studios, content must be edited…” or something. It didn’t contradict and just flowed.

i think i put even good books are hard to adapt or somthing like that…or maybe that was a different question lol

Cutoff for NJ is around 221. I can confirm that. No state has a 230 cutoff or anything close to it.
