<p>Regarding the 7 question…the answer is 728…100% sure…here is why.</p>

<p>You have 10 digits…0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9…count them for yourselves…</p>

<p>Then you do some simple algebra because the problem said…3 digit number less than 1000 that had no 7s…so you do 9x9x9 (because you don’t use a 7) which= 729 but you dont count 1000 or 0…i forgot which so the answer is indeed 728…so thats how you get it and now is a confirmed answer… your welcome :]</p>

<p>^ It was “munificence.” That’s the one CR question I’m sure I missed; I put “affability.”</p>

<p>the correct answer was munificent because its definition is: extremely liberal in giving; very generous
and the sentence said something about the ladies in the Hsu family always donating, even in tough economic times.</p>

<p>PS: Damn I had munificence down and changed it to affability or w/e because I thought munificence = greatness (not giving).</p>

<p>When I saw munificence I thought of remuneration and knew that that word was related to money. Honestly didn’t really know what munificence meant, but I used the “mun” part to associate it with money.</p>

<p>It’s kind of a bummer that I knew “munificence” but don’t even remember seeing it on the test! I must have breezed right past it when I saw a rough match with “affability.”</p>

<p>Does anyone know the historical National Hispanic Scholar cutoff?</p>

<p>I’ve just read that it’s roughly the top 5000 Hispanic PSAT test-takers. I couldn’t find any actual numbers.</p>

<p>Angel - the 12/|x-y| answer was 6/5 AKA 1.2 .</p>

<p>2f(x)-f(x) was like 7 I think, because it ended up being 12-5 I want to say.</p>

<p>the answer was 1.2. I put up an explanation a couple of pages back.
And I’m not sure what the exact answer for the 2f(?) question because you had to use that chart, which I don’t remember.</p>

<p>Thanx so much. I put 7 for the functions one. For the abs. value, I totally missed the 12/ part. But, weren’t we supposed to find the greatest value of 12/(x-y)? I’m not positive tho.</p>

<p>The question was asking about which aspect of reading the surveys mentioned in passage 1 were measuring, I believe. The answer is definitely scope because the author cited numerous statistics to demonstrate the immense numbers.</p>

<p>for the A,B,X question, i drew a circle with a radius of 3 around point B and a circle with a radius of 5 around A. I didn’t make them tangent, so obviously they had 2 intersections. I put X on of the the intersections and there is only one other point left.</p>

<p>This was a pretty good question, it looks like it got to a lot of people.</p>

<p>I recall the passage talking about the variety of the groups that the conclusion about illiteracy was true for. This suggests scope.</p>
