PSAT 2011 Saturday General Discussion

@pinkrose.
BTW, the question about without giving up value is not question 20; it was question 24.

also, question 23 was the one about the role of government and what passage 1 would think. i put misplaced, b/c government is no major threat. same for everyone else?

also, for question 13 of the same passage, i put difficult to maintain in a contemp world, as what both authors agree what privacy is. anyone else?

Gman-- I had the same reasoning as you for that question, but I wasn’t certain it was correct, either.

Does anyone remember what letter you got for the last three questions in the CR Section 3? I had to guess for those.

gman, yes i got that

Dinosaur-- I can’t remember what I put for 23, but I got the same thing for 13.

i got all of those kayshoe, i also used 23.

@immadinosaur, I think i had misplaced, and i’m sure i had difficult to maintain

Math

4,5,5,6,6,7 = 2
Zeros between [-3,3] = 2
50 adults out of room
45X+15(x+2)=390
Container = 2.5
X-T= 15
2002/2005= 4/5

Were she to agree…

Were she to agree

Silenced…roused
Than that of any monarch
Either would be a good PET not pets
Dog sled racing: Had driven

I had misplaced, because one of the sentences in the passage said that, the future invader of privacy would not be an all-seeing government. So author 1 would think that government is not a factor.

for the CR passage about gardens, i think there was a question about the overall purpose, i think i said something about a neglected viewpoint. sound familiar to anyone?

another CR question
Both agreed that privacy needed a form of protection

Yeah, neglected viewpoint. Was the tone bitter resentment?

okay, what about cr section 1 question 14
“hundred monitors” can help economy efficiency right?

i put the tone as wistful nostalgia

for tone i put wry disapproval i think

I put wry disapproval

also, free from human interference for gardens?

btw, it can’t be nostalgia, because you have to determine tone from just those lines, and it didn’t extend into the “i think this is unfortunate”
all he said was “gardens were essentially banished from American nature writing”

^evidently, he did not approve.

what was the pne about 100 computer screens? i forget the answer choices

cr section 1 question 22:

i put protective means. anyone else?

immadinosaur, yes i do recall putting that as an answer

i put bitter resentment, and highly complex instead of free from human interference. What info supported free from human interference?
