PSAT 2011 Saturday General Discussion

strip malls are soulless? did anybody get a longer answer for that one…

What did you guys put for the question asking about the meaning of “degree”?

I don’t think some of those CR answers are correct as you think they may be.

I got measures for degree.

4,5,5,6,6,7 was definitely 9, 33+x=6*7, x=9 and the median becomes 6

Post #274- They asked for the smallest value that makes it true, and it was 2

it was 2 @ ankit.
it asked for the lowest

measures for degree as well. Which CR ones in particular do you think are incorrect?

When you use two, the average and median are both 5

BostonBoy, I’m pretty it was 9 and not 2. When you use 2, the average is different from the median (6). The average of the numbers had to equal the median. Only 9 fit the criteria.

@cheesepuff with which ones do you disagree?

i put measure for degree.

and uh CR and Writing killed me.

-gardening not able to comply with romantisized nature
-author of gardening thought that Americans had trouble balancing culture and nature

when you use 2, the median then becomes 5. got this one wrong, stupid mistake

Oh and if it were two , the median would be 5.

The answer was 2, I believe. The median did not have to be 6. When x=2, the median is 5, and it still fits the criteria.

What do you think the curve will be? I’m hoping math will be something like 80,78,76.

These.

24: Without giving up value
13: difficult to maintain privacy in our world

9 and 2 will both work for the average equaling the median. When 2 is the answer, the median is 5, and when 9 is the answer, the median is 6. 2 is correct, as it is the lower answer.

Shooting for 230-240, haven’t gotten any of these ones we’ve mentioned wrong yet. So what’s the consensus on the horse “achieve it” one? I went with incorrect for ambiguous pronouns.

For writing, did everyone else get a ton of Ds as answers? That’s the one thing that struck me as idiosyncratic.

On all my SAT practice tests I usually do best on math, but it seems like that was my worst section this time around! I think I did pretty good on CR (-1 or 2) and W (-0 or 1), but math I think I’m up to (-3…)

ARG!!!

Which ones don’t you agree with?
