@avi: Got the same answers!
@Dani: To become a fianlist, just turn in the application. 15/16 of semis make it.

Aviballer, I got both of those, and am 100% sure for pragmatism.

There is no Finalist cutoff.

After you qualify for Semifinalist, you have to write essays and complete the application for National Merit Finalist. If you haven’t taken the SAT yet (and received a score comparable to your PSAT score), then you will have to take it.

dangit. i put onto which as wrong for the flipping switch one. i thought it was just "on which

Not trying to be annoying, but did anyone get two twice (grid-ins only)?
@Stun: Perfect example of overthinking. I thought the “so” was too easy as well.

wait so, after you become a semi, they dont even consider your score anymore? just essays, SAT score, recommendations, school grades?

hi,
what’s the consensus on these…

speed vs. cursory?
neglected (s3 last question) ? (i put the evaluating a controversial position, or something like that)
flipping switch? (i got that that was ok (i.e. no error was answer))

Also, can somebody please predict what a
CR (-2 to -4)
M (-0)
W (-2)
would be? thanks

I say neglected because there wasn’t any contro. Cursory is right if you look at its definition.
@Dani: If that wasn’t the case, there wouldn’t be a need for semis and non semis.

Yo what did you guys get for the big business question with poison and all that? It was asking who’s point of view are they speaking from…

At first I put big business, but upon careful reading of the passage, I saw that it mentions “Advocates of the big business” and a sort of mob mentality, so i ended up switching to the public… I thought that one was a hard one…

Also, for the second passage of the privacy one, was the police distinct from the government? I’m pretty sure passage two stated that government helps, but police intrusion is bad, so there is a distinction…

Yup.

Again, as I have said, after you have met the NMSF cutoff, consideration of your score beyond that point is just a matter of one’s ego issues and neurotic tendencies.

@shoe77 Yeah, it was the public. Advocates of big business = people like us. Da pooblic.

It’s big business. I’m sorry, but you just overthank it.
@Cheese: Oh, no! I can’t get anymore wrong…

@shoe77 i put big business

Yo, guys

for that WR question with flipping the switch and the project, what was the answer?

What was the literary device used in the two sections of Passage 1 and Passage 2 for privacy?

Understatement, Analogy, Anecdote or . .

i thought “flipping” was the error
and also i put big business

overthank? nice… xD

umm i’m kinda stupid, but what was the answer to the one that most resembles “the dark side”
