I do not, sorry, but I am almost certain that the answer was enthralled (if I recall, none of the other answer choices made sense).

What was the writing question with the “But it,”?

What was the writing question with the “But it,”?

hey guys, I may have missed an earlier post, but what do you think the expected curves are going to be this year? What would 2x on Critical Reading be?

Has there been a consensus on the ‘flipping switch’ question?

can someone explain to me why the sentence completion was confound…commonplace instead of the one with unorthodox in the answer? all i remember is something about a person who used unconventional ways and something about avant-garde?

also for the tone of that passage i put bitter resentment because i thought wry meant like saracastic/humorous…

im predicting -7 in critical reading (awful, i know), -0 Math, -0 Writing (hopefully!)

if i get any lower, i most likely won’t make the cutoff…:(

oh and for the critical reading that the answer was “Incompatible with a romanticized view of nature”…i put the answer right after it but i was debating between the two. does anyone remember what that answer was?

Which of these answers did you guys put for this one question of the Privacy passage: both authors agree that 1) we can use technology to help us keep our privacy and whatnot or 2) something about valuable services

1) the one w. enthralled - The little girl was enthralled with mystery books and borrowed every single one (or something of that attitude)

2) the one w commonplace for the 2nd blank: The public was _____ by her unique methods but these methods were ____ for the avant-garde producer.

3) the one w/ romanticized attitude - in the first para, what does the author say about gardners? choice B was “incompatible w/ romanticized attitude” choice C was “different respect for natural world”

i put valued services b/c only the 1st passage says that technology should be used to protect our privacy. passage 2 only said that the public should act more. BOTH wanted the to protect privacy w/out losing any of the benefits (this is supported via the environmental analogy in passage 1, and the last paragraph in passage 2)

What was the writing question for “But it,”?

Okay so I don’t understand why the answer for the thoreau tone question is wry disapproval. I thought bitter resentment was a bit strong, but it was asking what the tone was based on the sentence that said basically after this nature writing did not include gardening for many years, or something along those lines. And I don’t think you can take disapproval away from a sentence unless its describing someone. My thought was you can be resentful of the fact that gardening hasn’t been included in nature-writing, but you can’t have disapproval about that fact, if the question is just asking you to determine tone from that sentence.

This has been discussed many times today, try reading through the earlier posts in this thread.

For the shirts and $19.50 one, did it want total spent on shirts ($4.50) or cost per shirt ($1.50)?

Also, for the traditional -> obsolete/customary one, wouldn’t it be obsolete, since it is now replaced by genetics?

@numbersGL I’m pretty sure the answer was 4.5, but that is the cost of ONE shirt, which is what it wanted. It said that each shirt was 3x and each pair of socks was x. x turned out to be 1.5, so 1 shirt is 1.5*3=$4.5

but it was wrong b/c it said: although djkfhdskjhfkjshdfs, but it djfhskdjhf. which is a double negative/contradiction/wrong grammar

I vaguely remember getting a No Error near the beginning of the IDing the Error section.
Does anyone remember anything like this?

Hey guys, just as a FYI, there IS a “Search this Thread” option on the top right hand corner. If you have a question, search using that first before posting your question. I’ve skimmed through the 30 some pages now and have seen at least 10 repeats of 3 questions, not to mention multiple repeats of others.

What did you guys put for the CR question about gardening that asked which real life situation was most similar to the passage?
I put a man planting herbs instead of flowers on his window sill.
Also on the privacy atricle, there was a question about who’s point of view.
I put big business
Are these right?

it was the ivy one and yes the big business is right

@indianajones31 The first one was the one with the ivy I believe; the second one was big business.

What was the answer to the question on the privacy articles that asked what the author of passage 2 would say to passage 1’s 1000 computers (something along those lines). I think I put that it doesn’t have an effect on economic well-being of people (C), but I’m not sure if that’s right…

i put that it helps the economy or something… cuz the 2nd passage was talking about how all this technology is good for our economy… idk that one was tricky
