I’m just making sure I understand the layout of the test, time restraints, and the like. I’m studying a little, but not cramming.

Going to get some rest soon so I get ~9 hours of sleep.

@1995Andrew Yes me. But its only 8pm here so I’m good

Should I ask my proctor before the test starts to tell us when we have 5 minutes left remaining in each section??

yeah but bring a watch. it’s really useful

@The guy saying his friend already took it:

I have major doubts this happened. There’s no way the CB would let ANYONE, much less a high school student, see the test in its entirety before the rest of the country. Even if this did happen, he certainly didn’t take the W form. Probably the Alternate form.

I know that this is a stupid question…but how exactly do you use the watch? Do you look at the watch when you start, and then write the time ur supposed to finish on your test booklet…or how do you use a watch? :)

Usually the proctor puts down the time the section of the test started and when it will end on a whiteboard of chalkboard in front of you.

^^ You use it to tell how much time you have, in case a clock is not in an easy to see range.
Anyways, I’m taking the PSAT tomorrow. I’m really not prepared. Wish I studied more, but oh well. I’ll probably study for 2 hours, mainly in the writing section.

ok thanks

If your state’s qualifying cutoff is 210, does scoring above that essentially guarantee being a semifinalist? How many who score above qualifying are not chosen as semifinalists?

Thank you!

^Watch out, people only know what last year’s cutoff is for their states.

Nobody knows that the cutoffs are for this year, but if your state’s cutoff last year was a 210, and you score a 213+, then you should be safe.

I hate being in New York. Last year’s cut-off was 218. I got around a 181 last year. Granted, I had not learned about half of the math section, but still. I see no hope. :(

This is the only reason I enjoy being in Oklahoma…the cutoff score is LOW

Well, I’m going off to bed now. Good Luck to everyone! I’ll be be back tomorrow afternoon to talk about the exam and reflect my feelings XD.

^Haha same here. Expect for me to be in either an extremely pessimistic or extremely optimistic mood.

I’m so nervous, saturday I got a 232 on my practice test, but last night I only score 209. I don’t know why it dropped so much. Anyway, cut off is around 214 for Florida. Here we go.

What should I bring on the day of?

Good luck to everyone!

Your school id/photo id, and some pencils!!
