^he was making fun of him

Yeah, he was mocking him, that’s what I put. But one of the kids in my class (who got 34 on the ACT) said something else

i said mo was grateful or something to have duncan as a colleague
now i’m not so sure…
that’s another wrong for CR

it said that mo’s enmity toward duncan had begun, so mocking made perfect sense.

i really didn’t like that passage though.

Why is everyone saying that 10, 7, 7 is wrong for the isosceles triangle question? I thought 11, 2, 2 wouldn’t work because 2+2<11 which means that the sides aren’t long enough to touch.

2005-2008 Curves from an old thread:

11, 2, 2 wouldn’t work, but 11, 11, 2 would.

the answer is 11, 11, 2 which works
since 11, 2, ,2 doesnt even add up to a perimeter of 24

Did anyone get “resigning” as one of the answers on the CR section? I don’t remember what story it was from.

for the question about the tape recorders -
anyone get an answer that was like “to make a point about Mo’s teaching”

i think resigning/resign/resigned was an answer choice in two different CR questions, but i didn’t choose it as an answer for either.

i think one of the questions was the “passionate” one, can’t remember the other.

I thought the discussion of the tape recorders was used to emphasize the difference between Mo’s and Duncan’s students. I mean after all, why would you want to listen to a pompous teacher again on tape?

@ Markw2013 yeah most people seemed to have got that, but I thought that the difference of the students’ action ultimately reflected their teaching styles (but maybe I was over thinking it)

Can anyone list any vocabulary from the test that they remember that they thought was hard?

^alright here is my shot at it. This is from my slowly fading memory.

misanthropic
gratuitous
unfettered
gambit
bombastic
ruse
artifice

I don’t remember gratuitous.

Saidu-
It talked about how the hairs on his arm were sticking up and how he was dripping with sweat. 99% sure it was frightened.

Another choice for that question was weary.

That would seem too obvious as the passage later used the word fear. He certainly was frightened but I thought those lines indicated his surprise.

No, the answer was definitely frightened. He had sweat coming out of his pores. There is nothing that indicates surprised. The last sentence supports my stance even more.

Good day sir!
