PSAT 2011 Wednesday General Discussion

I’m 99.9% sure that it was frightened.

For writing, was the one about the Indian guy,

Elected…, he had rose - had rose is the error.

What about the indians who thought dancing, humming, and sing was as important as the act of pronouncing words.

Whoah, you took it three other times! You know the SATs are the biggies, right? But seriously, some of you guys obsess

@saidu10 Not Indians, natives. And I believe the error was that they needed the word “as” instead of “that” or something.

Sorry if this has been answered but I think the thieves one was “That the thieves were unable to sell the paintings they had stolen shows that the black market for paintings has shrunk” I think it was no error.

hey for writing section, is it: “that do not…” or “that not to”? the word before the quotation is a verb. like: i recommend that do not over-study or i recommend that not to over-study (this is just an example of what i’m talking about)?

you are right for the “that” question, but are u sure for natives a lot of people had this no error

On the one about dancing, humming, and singing, the incorrect word was “than” because it should have been “as”.

No, the thieves one was, “That the thieves were unable to sell the paintings they had smuggled out of Sicily shows (or showed, not entirely sure) that the market for stolen antiquities has shrunk.” No error.

What are some hard vocab words.

Can someone jog my memory on the elephantine vs. flamboyant question?

Also, I got passionate for the space passage, 134 for the CDs, 30 games, Mo was arrogant and it showed the difference between their students (quite uncertain about this one, because i feel like it was more so their teaching styles, though the general consensus is that this is right), definitely concession, and definitely concession. MISSED THE TRIANGE QUESTION- GOSH DARN IT.

Oh, and No error for the theives one. 2 NE overall.

I think the “flamboyant” question was about fish and how their bright colors are attractive or something.

Hey I’m a sophomore in West Virginia. What should be my scores
Math: -1
Writing :-2 or -3
Reading: -8 or -10 (Fail)

^It depends. Did you omit 8 questions, or choose the incorrect answer on 8 questions?

i didn’t omit :(

Out of curiosity, what major did you put for probable major?

What did u guys put that one on the second math section last multiple choice ? It was like 3 ven diagram w/ 10-100 and multiples of 3 thing… I put 26 (D)

I hope your right because I remmeber there were two that I was thinking about. and I put frightened

there was esoteric, quixotic, elephantine, recalcitrant.

@ssmm should have been E. 28

There are 30 numbers between 10-100 that are multiples of 3, but two of them (36 and 81) would be placed in the overlap of A, B, and C rather than just A and B because they are also squares of integers (the requirement for circle C). 30-2 = 28.
