I took the 11th grade PSAT (did not take it in 10th grade) with no test prep, actually didn't care and got a 211...what kind of ACT score would be reasonable for me to get. esp if i do prep

211 PSAT is like a 2110 on the SAT, so it would be reasonable for you to get a 30 to 32 on the ACT if with prep. However, the ACT and SAT are very different so you may actually do better or worse than your PSAT, depending on which test structure you find easier. Good luck with tests!

I got a 218 in soph year, 210 (yeah, that’s right) in junior year.

I got a 35 on the ACT with no prep. But honestly you shouldn’t expect that, I’m just showing you how BS these standardized tests can be. It’s hard to say what you’re actually going to get with some prep, but I’d guess AT LEAST 32.

oh and 2300 SAT with prep.

Congratulations on a great score. The best part seems to be that it has opened your eyes and you have started to care. Good luck in your ACT/SATs. You’ll do well.

Thanks…
does anyone think a 33 would be possilbe?

Son got 210 jr year PSAT and 33 ACT just 2 months later. His prep was taking 3 practice test.

mom2010grad is right - get some study books, flip through them and do some practice tests. I’m not familiar with the ACT but find out where you can get some actual (past) tests and use those. For the SAT the College Board has a big book of past tests, I’m sure the ACT has something similar.

The main thing is to spend some time doing some practice tests so you figure out what strategy works for YOU. :)

If you care, anything is possible.

With prep? I think you’ll do great. Just as there’s an official SAT guide, there’s also an ACT guide. You can buy it on Amazon for…$15 I think.

Since all the tests are different, I recommend getting the study book and doing the practice tests. =3

I’ve been doing Practice tests and getting between a 31 and a 34…so i hope i can do that well on the test.
I’ve been trying to read all the books too.

On the practice tests make sure you go over the questions you got right and know not only why the right choice is right but why the wrong ones are wrong. In other words, you will learn a lot more by digesting a practice test completely than by taking many of them. What I think happens is that many times your correct answers were good guesses. If you are guessing 50-50 you are as likely to guess wrong the next time, so your scores get stuck in a certain range.

I got a 192 on the PSAT and a 30 on the ACT, ad I took them like, 2 months apart.
