Thanks for trying @YoohooAddict !
No problem @3scoutsmom
Clarifying question:
So when scores are released online, they will be available to view on the My College QuickStart page, along with past PSAT scores and those “personality quiz” things?
I assume so. Right now DS’s 2014 scores are shown and there is a link if he wants to see the 2013 one.
So just to clarify, the scores will be released sometime during the 3rd - 4th week of December?
@Pandu16 I think so. I also heard that your school gets your score a week or two earlier and that it is their decision to set the release date.
Howdy y’all. It’s Palm from last year.
I’d love to try and see if I can make something like last year’s method work for 2015, but I didn’t take the PSAT this year and thus don’t have an account with scores to mess around with. I’ll try and get a friend who took it to let me mess around with theirs.
Since it appears that not a lot has changed about the online score system, I don’t see too much reason that it (or something similar) shouldn’t work again for this year, other than that @YoohooAddict got an error. That said, some people last year got the same “My College Quickstart™ Is Temporarily Unavailable” error last year even though it worked for others.
In celebration of the PSAT, here are a few possible explanations for that:
A. This method does not work on all accounts.
B. Something weird, perhaps with cookies, can occur.
C. The scores are actually not in the system yet despite the access code prompt page working.
D. Being 2015, it actually doesn’t work any more.
E. Something I didn’t think of.
(For good luck I put “being” in D because the answer almost never contains the word “being”)
Hope we can figure out this question soon!
EDIT: Okay I realize now that I have been silly. Of course the system, format and test have changed significantly from last year given the redesign. This does not necessarily mean it will not work for this year, but I’m not sure. Just to confirm, @YooHooAddict, are you able to get to a page asking for an access code? And does the page look similar to the score page for last year?
Another thing, could someone with an account already made and who took this year’s test please go to:
https://studentscores.collegeboard.org and tell me what you see? And what comes up when you click “My Score Reports” or “Full Reports” at the top bar (this button comes up when you click on a past test, if you have one).
Also if you could tell me whether or not you took the PSAT last year and if you have accessed any College Board scores online with the same account before then that would be awesome.
@palm12341 – only 10th grade PSAT scores appear. Oddly, SAT I & SAT II scores do not appear. When I click through to “Add My Scores” and then to “Get My Scores”, it asks for PSAT Access Code. In absence of that, it wants student ID # and I have no idea what that is or where it can be located.
@CT1417 Ah, okay, thanks. I’m pretty sure this is the new system CB plans to use in lieu of My College QuickStart, and I would predict that they are planning to move regular future SAT scores there in March
Sadly I can’t really find any way to get the scores in this system. Each test has its own long string of characters as its identifier, rather than just a year and test type. Additionally, it doesn’t look like they are gonna let us go through questions and their answers like the old QuickStart.
I suppose it is possible that this new site won’t replace QuickStart, meaning we could still get Qs and As (and use the old method for getting scores early) once CB has all the scores in their system. As of yet, I’m not sure if they have them yet. I’d be more confident if someone found a page where it asked for an access code but clearly knew the test had been taken.
I presume that nothing except last years scores come up if you try https://quickstart.collegeboard.org right?
@palm12341-- Yes, I tried the Quick Start page at the same time. 2014 report is there but nothing else. I guess we will all have to wait.
@CT1417 Looks like it. On the plus side, it appears that you will no longer have to wait on the school to give out paper scores like past years. Tell me if sometime you see something new on the score page sometime.
Thanks for your help.
Patience. Patience. You guys are cracking me up…
I don’t get why it takes them SO LONG to grade the PSAT… my high school teachers can run a scantron through the machine in a few hours… why does it take 3 months? It’s not like there’s an essay to grade or anything. Releasing scores in like 4 weeks seems more reasonable to me given the huge number of test-takers across the country.
I tried typing in my student ID from my actual school ID card and even that did not work. I didn’t think it would be something other than that.
@2muchquan ha by now it’s just for the challenge of it.
Grading is the easy part. Norming the test and ensuring that 2 million test-takers receive their scores on the same say w/o a hitch is the hard part.
This entire conversation reminds me of when we were little trying to figure out how to get the gumball out of the machine w/o putting in the coin. We used to gather around some knowledgable kid who knew just what to do to get instructions. Times change but people don’t LOL.
Does anyone have confirmation if the scores will be released online 12/12?
nope
