likestowrite Yes, it seems that it is possible that it could be higher this year, but, as you know, I am just guessing. It would seem that instead of just subtracting a fixed number, some cutoffs could stay the same, some could be lower, and some could be higher.
@bsdsj22 K thanks
I don’t understand what you guys mean by higher scores this year? It doesn’t make sense
@likestowrite someone on the prior page, I think @mghyps, believes the cut offs for each state are going to be 6 points lower than last year. If that’s the case, TN would drop to 206. We’ll see tomorrow! (also in TN).
It’s already Jan. 7 in London but no scores are posted.
Anybody know how to convert a score to the selection index?
1390
@bsdsj22 I converted yours prior to now. It was 204 cuz 2 (65) + 74 = 204
@bsdsj22 see post 1367 for the formula. Can’t do it based on total score 1390. Need to break it down math and verbal.
At least I broke 200. I hope I qualify! Good luck to everyone else
@bsdsj22 When will you be able to access a pc?
Soon.
@mghyps So when you said the cutoff might be 6 points below, do you mean SI or the old PSAT scale? ex. Texas was 219 but should be 213= Old PSAT format? Sorry if the question is confusing…
I think they mean it will be six points lower on the SI because the index is out of 228 now instead of 240.
PSA: The telluride association emails are sent out based on last year’s psat scores. They have nothing to do with the scores being released tomorrow. This was confirmed by colleg board on Twitter.
What are telluride association emails?
@stresstasticlife TASS or Telluride is a very prestigious summer program and I think, don’t quote me on it, they only recruit top scorers on PSAT. I’m not entirely sure but this is my speculation.
@bsdsj22 saw your earlier post and also converted your score and came up with 204 as well. Incidentally, if you had received 650 on math and 740 on verbal, your index would have been 213 despite having the same total score.
@stresstasticlife they were sent to people who were in the top 99th percentile last year. It’s basically an invitation for people to apply for a summer program for really smart people
oh, I see! what time will the PSAT results be released btw (9pm PST?)
