Did anybody who was in the 99th percentile not get the TASP email? It seems like everyone who did really well got it which is worrying me.
@masalvada123 same… Based on my predictions I should definitely be in the 99th percentile, but no email…
Maybe I completely screwed up the critical reading, that Frederick Douglass passage was confusing
@highcoll Same. I felt I did really well but I got no email so I’m scared I made a stupid misbubble or something.
@likestowrite I don’t know what I am doing. lol.
DS’s scores are weird.
1400 (2015) = 205(2015 SI) i.e. (33+32+37.5)*2
= 206 (2014 from concordance) = 60+63+77 = 200 (2014) ???
It is hard to predict what new NMSI cutoff will be for each state. The best option is to use “Test to Section Concordance” (on page 4 of the concordance table see post #1146) ) to convert sub-score to old PSAT score and see if the total is in range based on last year’s NMSQT cut-off. Still it is only approximation.
@Plotinus, CB conducted field trial for new SAT in 2015 and similarly one for PSAT in 2014. https://www.facebook.com/Graceschoolassn/posts/10153676620582381)
So CB said in a tweet that scores are released “in the morning”. What time, though? Someone on here said 12 AM, another 7 AM. Both are in the morning. I guess we’ll know soon enough, but still CB needs to be clearer on when they’ll release the scores.
are psat scores coming out at midnight (EST) or should I plan on going to sleep…
@garyasho2 oh i didnt see your post while writing mine, yeah lol they need to be more specific: i think ill check at 12am just in case
I’m afraid things are not the way we thought they would be. For old PSAT scores near the top 240, the new equivalent selective index would be a lower number. However, for scores near the 215 range the new scores may be nearly the same. For old scores near 200 the new score may actually be HIGHER. This is all just rough guesswork based on using the individual subject conversion tables (link in a previous post, page 95). For simplicity, I pretended that people who took the old test got the same score in each of the 3 areas (W, R, and M). For example, someone who got 65 in each of the 3 sections would have an old score of 195, but an equivalent new selective index of 200. Here are my results:
Old PSAT score in each section Old Selective Index New 2015 Selective Index
65 195 200
67 201 206
70 210 215
72 216 216
75 225 222
80 240 228
If this is not correct, please someone let me know.
@purplepuffin Yeah same, I’m going to check at 12AM EST, but if the scores don’t show up then, well I guess I’ll somehow have to fall asleep with the huge amount of anxiety I’ll have.
I’m sorry, the spaces in my chart were taken out. The chart has 3 headings for the columns of numbers.
Over 200k views. Actually insane
scores come out at 7:30 AM according to CB customer service line
I got my score from my counselor.
650 Reading
740 Math
1390/1520
I’m terrified. Hopefully I make the cut for NMS!
@bsdsj22 Do you know how many you got wrong for each section?
@BunnyBlue Check out @payn4ward 's comment at post #1466. She comes to the same conclusion with her son’s data that she downloaded yesterday. His Selection Index is higher this year than it would have been last year.
So, this is a big difference than were expecting, right? We are in TN and the old SI needed for merit cutoff was 212. It will likely be higher this year, correct?
@bsdsj22 lucky! our counselor refused to give it to us, told us to wait another day and @Studious99 one could say the same about your username
Does anyone know which counts as half a point off for math? MC or Grid-ins?
There’s half point offs? @ro2400
She gave me my access code so when I get to a computer I will check
