PSAT for Sophomores? Whats good?

Hey,

I know this may be a frequent question, but the search here is no good so I will post again and maybe I can get a couple good answers.

What is the point in taking the PSAT as a sophomore? Besides "practice"?

Do your teachers see your score? And if you score high, will you be noticed in your school? Or what about beyond school?

What happens if you do score highly as a sophomore?

Thanks,
A-san.

Btw, what do you guys suggest if you have not taken Geometry YET? I am currently taking Geometry right now, this year. What do you suggest I do to be prepared for it on the test?

My school makes freshmen, sophomores, and juniors take the PSAT. I guess it's good practice. It doesn't really mean anything until junior year.

Yea, for anybody that's not a junior, taking the PSAT is completely useless except for the good practice it provides.

:)

I am also a sophomore, A-san. I'll definitely be taking it this year, but I'm currently enrolled in an Advanced Algebra 2 class. Not having taken Geometry will most likely significantly lower your score...but it won't hurt to take it for practice.

It is just for practice. IDK, it may be useful in seeing what you can do to get your junior year PSAT higher for NMSC, but there really is no other purpose to sophomore year PSAT. Unless you like getting a lot of mail from colleges early on...

i think breaking 200 would be pretty good.

It's for you to check a certain box that allows you to get junkmail (on a serious note: PSAT is beneficial for practice and I recommend taking it...It may even be a first exposure to a CB test)
