PSAT/NMSC- how to become a finalist

i took the PSAT last fall as a junior and scored a 218, which put me in the 99th percentile for my state (which makes me a semifinalist)... then while doing some research on the national merit process, i read that about 15000 of the 16000 semifinalists become finalists, and that part of the criteria is that the SAT score corresponds somewhat to the PSAT score-
I've taken the SAT 4 times (no intention of doing it again!) and i'm one of those people that just does better on the ACT than SAT- my best score was a 204 with my highest score being in writing (700), will this be close enough to my PSAT score of 218 to move me to finalist standing?

thoughts, please!!!!

There is a National Merit thread in the financial aid forum that will answer a lot of your questions. According to posts there, it seems anything above 1950 is okay.
