PSAT?

Does the PSAT matter? I am going to take it this year around October, and I want to know if I should start preparing now as if it is the SAT. Any books, videos or other suggestions to prepare for it?

Thanks.

The PSAT matters for scholarships. I would recommend that you study for it. I don’t have any suggestions off the top of my head though.

It matters if you can do really well on it as a junior, and it’s easier to do well as a junior if you do well in earlier years. Some colleges give really large scholarships for doing well (Semifinalist or Finalist) in the National Achievement or National Merit competitions. Others will give you smaller scholarships, but even those are helpful.
Anyway, if you study for the PSAT you’ll also be studying for the SAT.

Is studying for the PSAT any different than the SAT? If so, how?

@SciolyGuy Not really. The only difference is that the PSAT is shorter and has no essay.
