Just got my PSAT scores today:
CR: 74
M: 61
W: 73
~ 208
It also says I'm in the 98th percentile for juniors.
I know this isn't outstanding, but I just have some questions:
- According to my friends I've qualified for Commended Scholar and the Hispanic Recognition Program. (There's no asterisk next to my overall score). How prestigious are these awards/recognition? Does it look good on a college app? What percent of test-takers earn this recognition, respectively? I think Commended students and Hispanic students are also eligible for other scholarships, so are there any I should look into?
Thanks!

…bump anyone?

Congratulations on the score.

Commended status is somewhat prestigious but is not as impressive as Semifinalist status. The Commended status is awarded to the top three percent of junior test-takers nationally. Hispanic Scholar status is awarded to the top 5,000 Hispanic juniors. The cut-off for that is usually a bit lower than that for Commended (so, usually in the 190’s).

Here is some helpful information: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/hispanic-students/640730-national-hispanic-recognition-program.html
