<p>it depends. i think 210 psat is close to 2100 sat, but 240 is much easier than 2400. i think i got 240 with no effort today
but it took me a ton of effort to get a 2320 earlier.</p>
<p>If you are a serious student your most rigorous years of high school have not happened yet when you take the PSAT. In theory, your SAT scores from late Jr or early Sr year should be similar (if you scored very high) or higher just from extra confidence and experience.</p>

<p>i'm a junior and recently completed a kaplan sat course and after taking the first practice test i felt the sameee way... i wasn't satisfied AT ALL. plus, the score was significantly lower than my PSAT score sophomore year</p>

<p>i definitely think the kaplan tests, or at least the first one, are much harder. are you taking a kaplan course? they have a guarantee that your score will improve or you get your money back or whatever so naturally they would make the first one incredibly hard to almost guarantee that your score improves, right? that's what i think...</p>

<p>got a 200 on PSAT in October, got a 2240 on the real deal in December. Personally, I think the PSAT is harder because the curve is much harsher and I tend to make a lot of stupid mistakes.</p>
<p>PSAT is easier if you're looking for a perfect score. Getting a "good" score is easier on SAT because of the curve, though.</p>
<p>I think the psat is way too unpredictable. Someone could miss a couple questions and totally screw his score, while on the SAT it's easier to get a good score with a few wrong. My junior psat math was 65, but my SAT math was 800. I think that says something.</p>

<p>I KNOW that CR is my worst section ...it just happened to have a better curve on the PSAT compared to the rest of the sections. (REALLY harsh curve for M and W....)</p>

2100 on sat. about 300 point difference... so it's not accurate.</p>
<p>I don't think the PSAT is a great indicator. The curve is so brutal and it's many people's first time taking collegeboard tests. SAT scores seem to often be significantly higher.</p>

<p>My sophomore year PSAT? 2340. And it meant NOTHING, because sophomore year PSATs don't do anything.</p>

<p>Junior year SAT? 2400. a 500 point difference. No studying on either. The PSAT seemed MUCH harder, and it ****ed me off that my junior PSAT disqualified me from scholarship thing.</p>
<p>Because of the harsh curves, it really gets difficult to accurately predict SAT scores. Also, since it doesn't have an essay, has an easier math section, and has a single 30 minute writing section, its format is completely different from the SATs, so you can get a much lower projected score from your PSATs than from any other test.</p>

<p>My oldest got an 800 and a 750 on the PSAT writing, but 690 twice on the SAT. His other scores were similar however. His PSAT score was always higher than his SAT score.</p>
