<p>Does the commendation thing have an impact on your college transcript at all? If you didn't get the Semifinalist status, is putting the commendation thing on ur transcript futile, or will it still help you in getting into colleges?</p>

<p>it means nothing, they only care about finalists, so even 1000 semi finalists are screwed</p>
<p>they don't know if ur finalist or not until spring of senior year.. colleges have made their decisions by then.</p>
<p>obviously, so putting down commended means nothing for sure then, if you have a shot at being a finalist then you get an advantage</p>
<p>so basically all that the NMSQT thing is good for is money rather than augmenting ur transcript? (and that too only if your a finalist?)</p>
