PSEO at the U of M? My Junior Year

Hello, I was just wondering what my chances of being accepted to the University of Minnesota as a full-time PSEO student my junior year of high school are? I go to a small school (89 kids) and I am #1. I am currently taking SMSU Calc, and got 97% in Pre-Calc last year. I am also taking physics this year, which is traditionally a senior class. I write "fairly" well, i wouldn't say extraordinarily, but well.

Here was my freshmen grades, and hope to achieve them this year also.
My GPA was 4.077 with my weighted college Pre-Calc, and 4.0 w/out the college credit.

Am I taking hard-enough classes? I feel that I've already annoyed my counselor more that my fair share xD. The only "AP" classes that our school has to offer is Calc, CIS English, and I believe (not for sure) CIS History. I only qualified for Calc.. But am in the highest English i can get into (Pre-College English).

One more question, for the essay I have to write, Do I do that at home in my own time? Or is it at the college timed?

Thanks very much!!

I think you have very good chances of being accepted to do pseo next year at the u of m. I was accepted there for this year (my junior year) having only taken honors classes and a 3.9 gpa so you should be all set. Don’t worry about the lack of difficult classes at your school, that’s why you are planning on doing pseo, right? Just keep up the good work in the advanced classes your taking now and you’ll be fine.

The essay is at home in your own time. Work really hard on it because that’s pretty much 1/2 of what they look at to see if you are prepared for college.

I hope I helped, good luck!

Thank you very much! I’m just starting to get excited about it because its only one year away… 5 months away from getting to apply! Would you say that you were happy you took pseo? What do i have to look forward to?

Thanks!
