Semifinalist
White Female
2270 SAT
4 + GPA
Spent last two years at local college
OK EC’s

You are not going to find much in this thread. The PSP isn’t offered to the students with the best GPA + SAT combination - they’re looking for other intangibles. As I’ve stated before, I’ve seen mid-1200 SAT students with moderate GPAs in the PSP program, and I’ve seen 1600 SAT valedictorians rejected.

From: [Georgia Institute of Technology :: President’s Scholarship Program :: Home](http://www.psp.gatech.edu/)

“Approximately 364 students have been chosen as semifinalists thus far. This group has a middle 50% range on the SAT of 2200-2310. About 95% have a 4.0+ weighted GPA. [Over 750 applicants thus far have 2200+ on the SAT and 4.0+ GPAs. We chose about the top half of that group, with strong consideration given to the leadership and activity records and essays.]”

Not too shabby…

Does anyone know if the SAT range they gave would include the “converted” ACT scores? Georgia tech says that they will convert you individual sections on the ACT into SAT scores and superscore them with SATs

i think it’s safe to assume that it does. To not use converted ACT scores would take a lot of work, to go back to each record and strip them out?

If you’re trying to rationalize your chances, you should realize the competition is immense (7000 apps for 60 scholarships?!), and nobody is getting in simply on good test scores and grades. That said, good luck!

Notification for the remaining PSP Semi-Finalists will occur by email this Friday, Dec. 18. Students not selected as a semi-finalist will not be notified.

Students who have been admitted to Georgia Tech will receive an email in early January telling them how to indicate their interest in being considered for the GT Honors Program. To indicate your interest, you should fill out the form at the following link if you have not already done so: [Georgia Institute of Technology :: Undergraduate Admission :: Accepted Freshmen Georgia Tech Honors Program](http://www.admiss.gatech.edu/honors/) The Honors Program evaluation process begins in mid-January, and candidates will receive a response by late February. For students who filled out this form at the time of application and would clearly be admitted during the January evaluation process, notification may occur as early as December.

Best of Luck!

So, did anyone get their PSP notification email this afternoon?

At least 20 did, as the number of semifinalists changed on the PS page.

[Georgia Institute of Technology :: President’s Scholarship Program :: Home](http://www.psp.gatech.edu/)

Has anyone been notified yet??

When I checked my online application status it shows that I have been admitted to the program. I did not receive any e-mail or regular mail so far. Does it mean that I am not a Semi-Finalist?

Admitted to what program? Presidential Scholar’s Program? Or just admitted to Georgia Tech?

just to confirm my denial, if no email was sent yesterday then i did not get in?

regardless, grtaz to all who got it. wish i could of 0.o
