President's Scholarship semifinalist!

We received a thick envelope in the mail yesterday (postmarked on 10/17) notifying us that our daughter has been selected as a PSP semifinalist. We're very happy that she's been recognized for all of her hard work. Now we'll be on edge for several months about her selection as a finalist.

Good luck to all the other applicants!

Congratulations to you and your daughter! Do you mind posting her stats. I also applied for PSP and waiting for GT decision.

thanks
srg

Math 750; Reading 740; Writing 720; GPA 4.0

She attends a high school where your junior and senior years are done as a full-time college student. Therefore, she only took a couple of AP exams (Statistics, Calculus) and scored a 4 on each.

She has had summer jobs, is president of a campus club, plays an instrument, community service, etc.

I believe that this scholarship is very competitive. My D was accepted SCEA to Harvard but was not offered this! I think you really need to let them know that you are really keen on attending GT and not using them as a safety. I wish your daughter good luck...

Congratulations! My son received the same in the mail today! Expecting it to get very tough for the next round!

i recieved the same also, i'm working on getting teacher rec's at the moment... best of luck to everyone else!

I just received notification also. Looking forward to the interview!

No mail for me yet. :(

same here ohcollege1102, there's still hope though! Did all of you guys who got semi get e-mails?

No mail yet here, although I only submitted the app on 9/30 (at night). I wonder if there is any correlation.

I submitted early morning on the 31st and I, too, haven't received anything.

Never got an email. Our only notification was an envelope in the U.S. mail.

US Mail received today, postmarked 10/24. Good luck to all!

Would the people who got it mind posting their stats? Thanks!

D's letter was in mailbox today. Postmarked 23rd, I think. She submitted application 9/30. Stats follow:

I'm in your boat ohcollege1102, I'm kind of surprised, I thought I would get semi

If I did not receive anything in the mail yet, should I be worried I did not get semi?

I cannot imagine why I wouldn't have gotten at least semi...

My GT Status says "Complete" in lieu of "In Process" and submitted it before the Oct 1 deadline, but have not received any notification of any sort...
