Hold out on a PSP.

The game library overall is lackluster. Most games are only ports of PS2 games, and the few games that release on it that are any good get ported to the PS2 in a matter of time. Only use i see for it is media features. However, its memory stick based, so the most size you're getting is 4 GB (at a hefty price for that stick too).

Rumours floating around we may see a 2nd generation model including a harddrive to compliment the service coming this Winter for PSP users to buy and download PS1 games to be played on the PSP. That'd make the PSP worth its cost.

If you want games, get a DS Lite. Only $129 too.

PSP right now is worthless; it's slightly better overall than a DS, but the prohibitive cost isn't worthwhile.

....

....

DS is better. Hands down.

Yes, I'm a Nintendo fan. What can I say?

Uh, Wii like it better?

Well the reason I wanted a PsP was for watching footage and playing the bboy game... so not really for gaming purposes.
Memory sticks are ****ing expensive (i just checked) though.

Ya, if its really not for many games, and more for video (which takes tons of space), and you're really not in a hurry, wait for a few things:

1) Decrease in price and increase in space of Memory Sticks (what they charge for them now should be a crime).
2) The inevitable price drop for the PSP likely to come this holiday season
3) The rumoured 2nd Gen PSP with harddrive.
4) The next generation iPod. Who knows what possible changes we might see to make it more of a viable video player.

why do you wana play the bboy game
are you a bboy in real life?

yeah i am
10 chars

i have a psp. i think it beats all other hand held consoles. its pretty amazing actually. plus theres a web browser. and for 200$ its worth it.

memory sticks are a one time buy. you get a one gig memory stick and youre set. you can also use the same stick for your camera(if you have a sony that is). thats what i do.

GO FOR IT!

Dont get a PSP, get a nintendo DS so much better!

I have both the PSP and DS. The DS is collecting dust while all I use the PSP for is reading downloaded manga lol. In my oppinion they are pretty useless.

p.s. Ill sell you both for $250 lol. DS is practically new while the PSP is in great condition. Has a few games as well.

I don't see memory stick costs coming down any time in the near future. they've been this same price forever. and they know they can charge whatever they want since if you want a psp or a sony camera you have to buy one... which is why i recomend buying cameras that use SD cards cause you can get like a 512 mb for 20 bucks.

The video ipod is awesome if you have the right software to convert video to it.

videora ftw

I really want a PSP for media stuff.
I've had a DS since the day before launch (pre-order w/ overnight shipping that came early), and I like it for games, but I don't play games as much as I used. It would be awsome to have something that handled video well so I could keep myself out of trouble when I have breaks between classes. I don't really like the screen on the iPod video, and I already have two iPods. Plus, PSP has wifi internet access on it, while it's going to be a while for the DS.

I bought a PsP Value Pack + 4 gig memory stick for around 400 dollars on ebay.
Both were new as well :)

buy the psp, you'll never get bored. You can download all the PSP Games on your computer for free w/o having to buy them. PM me if you wanna know how. Also if the PSP Game selection isn't up to your standards, you can download any classic game originally for Sega, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and so on because they have emulators for the PSP. Finally people are continually making app's for it which include many handy utilities that you can find on a palm pilot. Plus many movie formats can play on it, there's a web browser, and it plays movies, stores photos, and plays music. The PSP is a bargain and i recommend it.

Hey classprezcj,
Could you tell me how to get those? I have a psp too. But I only have a 2 gig mem card though.

its illegal to say how but if you get me on aim-sn sk8pimpcj-i can tell you.
